COVID-19 Outbreak and My Hair Regimen

COVID-19 OutbreakI first want to say; I hope everyone is doing well during the COVID-19 outbreak. The world is going through a dark period, but please know this too shall pass. Be safe, wash your hands, and hang in there!

To be honest — focusing on my hair regimen has been at the bottom of my to-do list. I am more focused on my faith, family, health, finances, and food supply. However, it is still essential for us not to neglect ourselves, and mentally it is helpful to keep a routine.

What Has Changed?

For starters, I no longer need to commute to an office for work. I am genuinely thankful to be able to work at home five days a week. Not going into the office translates into my hair, getting a much-needed break from manipulation, styling, and flat ironing mostly.

To date, I have mostly adhered to my hair regimen, with exception to me using henna a bit less. So after my hair is cleaned, conditioned, and blown dried, I braid it. During the week, it is purposely kept up in a protective hairstyle.  I only wear it out on an occasion like when we get cool days with gentle breezes.

Finding Products

Usually, the Easter holiday brings a lot of promo codes and sales. Doesn’t look like this will be the case this year. A few weeks ago, I visited Shescentit’s website to see if I could purchase more goodies for my hair. Most of my favorites were out of stock! Thankfully, I have still had a decent supply left. For once, being a product-junkie has been positive. I don’t know what I would do without their deep conditioners. Going forward, I will use my stash sparingly. In the meantime, I have been using Amazon to stock up on my other favorite brands like Giovanni for shampoo.
