Like many of you, I have been embracing my silver strands lately. I wish I could blame it on a hair salon being closed, but I can’t. I color my hair at home with henna and just have been procrastinating. It has almost been three months since I went to work, and I have only stepped outside of the house a handful of times. Since there is no one to judge me for my unruly gray hair peeking out around my edges, my motto has been: Gray Hair Don’t Care!
Henna is My Friend
Before COVID-19, I would faithfully apply henna to my hair every four weeks. Henna doesn’t just color my hair a vibrant red hue; it also strengthens my hair and keeps my scalp clean and dandruff-free.
Since COVID-19, I must admit I haven’t felt the urgency to use henna. Henna is wonderful, but it takes time and energy. I have plenty of time but don’t have the energy. I don’t feel like mixing, applying, and waiting a few hours for the henna to work its magic.
Don’t get me wrong. I love the way my hair looks when it is freshly colored. I am just taking time to marvel at the glory of my silver strands for a little while.
